Short breaks are growing in popularity throughout Europe, helped by the explosion of low cost carriers which have driven the popularity of city breaks and the attractiveness of Eurostar has encouraged many Parisians and Londoners to cross the channel for a weekend break.
Eurostar is a train service that connects the UK to Paris and it has other connecting services to link to more than a hundred destinations across Europe. You can travel Eurostar to Amsterdam, Brussels, Disneyland Paris, Paris or Lille. The travel is inexpensive, fast, up to 186 miles an hour and it’s an enjoyable train ride. Eurostar needs only half an hour for check in before departure and it travels from city centre to city centre.
Eurostar departs from St Pancras International and two stations in Kent, Ebsfleet International and Ashford International, and there is a regular service from London to Paris (2hours 15minutes) and London to Brussels (1hour fifty minutes). It is possible to upgrade to Eurostar Leisure Select in order to make travelling more comfortable.
Leisure Select allows you to travel in an air-conditioned carriage with reclining seats and plenty of legroom. You will also be provided with a complimentary meal, magazines and newspapers.

The Paris Bastille hotel is great for mini groups or families as it offer three and four bedded rooms. It is very welcoming and comfortable having recently undergone a major refurbishment. The thirty-seven rooms are spread over six floors and they include air conditioning, minibars, satellite television and high-speed Internet access. There is no restaurant in this hotel but it is close to the Bofinger and L’Encrier restaurants.
Le Chat Noir Design Hotel Paris, the black cat to us, is an impressive eight storey three star hotel that is situated close to the Moulin Rouge in the Montmartre district. It has been totally refurbished and renovated and with its black cat theme offers something that little bit different. Amenities in the rooms include complimentary wireless Internet connection, satellite television, CD and DVD player, safe and direct dial telephone. This hotel does not have its own restaurant but La Famille and Le Basilic restaurants are close by.
If you are really planning to splash out on your Eurostar city break, then the Murano Resort Paris is for you. It has fifty two rooms spread over five floors and can only be describes as exclusive and unusual providing all the latest technology. Amenities include satellite television plus as the premium channels, complimentary wireless Internet access and minibars. The bathrooms have bathrobes, slippers, scales and complimentary toiletries. This hotel has its own restaurant , bar and is the haunt of the rich and famous.
