As the housing market continues to sag and the economy maintains its roller-coaster behavior, timeshare owners facing foreclosure are joined by uneasy consumers who’d like to unload the obligations of a timeshare before they’re faced with work cutbacks or pension reductions.
As a result, many owners are turning to third-party re-sellers in hopes of selling their vacation properties quickly. There are many pitfalls in the process of selling, and timeshare resale scams abound. The main takeaway from all the advice you’ll ever read (and, we hope, heed) is always to avoid sellers who demand an upfront fee.

There are dozens of side trips that can be made from Sanibel, if, indeed, you are willing to leave Paradise.
For most travellers who come to Sanibel Island for a week or two, a trip off island is of no interest. As mentioned in an earlier blog post there are many things to do on island and many boating excursions to other islands right from Sanibel. Why leave Sanibel at all, and especially by automobile?
Travel Guide
But for renters who spend a month or more on island, there may come a time when they just have to explore.
And there are several nice destinations that one can drive to in relatively short time that really offer something different.

Geocaching crazy – join the hunt!
I’m a self-confessed technophobe. I have never sent a text message or taken a photo with a cell phone; played a video game or watched a movie on a personal DVD player. In fact, I never quite mastered working the video machine so I could be a lost cause altogether. But not quite…not since I discovered geocaching – the latest outdoor craze to hit treasure hunting enthusiasts across the world. Because, to be successful at geocaching you need to be familiar with a global positioning unit or gps for short…and I am pleased to say, I not only have said unit, but I can use it!

Yoga Travel – Ashrams
Ashrams are spiritual retreat centers and havens for yoga travel. Typically very simplistic and set in natural locations, ashrams create a environment conducive for a focused practice. The concept of the ashram began centuries ago in India where they served as yoga and religious sanctuaries. Children and adults went to study under a the wisdom of a guru and were given instruction on how to improve their yoga and spiritual practices. Today, ashrams are much more accessible, available, and remain very affordable. The low cost has given rise to popularity of ashrams as a rewarding yoga travel destination.
