Auckland is the largest city of New Zealand. About 4,000,000 people live in the city and 1.2 million in the Greater Auckland area. The city accounts for nearly one third of the country’s population. The entire city, together with its gulf islands and suburbs, covers an area of 637 km2. The city of Auckland is built on a narrow band of land bridging two harbors. It is surrounded by dead volcanoes and scenic islands. Auckland is also called “City of Sails” because of the yachts that sail in the harbors and adjoining Hauraki Gulf. The city has a temperate climate with warm summers and cool winters.

Just before I was about to begin writing this article,I went through my emails. There it is! An email with the following quote:

Talk about Law of Attraction or synchronism, here I was thinking about what to write and this pops up on my screen.

While studying for certification as a life coach, Life is a Journey not a Destination was one of the “Empowerment Foundation Principles” that was taught at iPEC (Institute for Professional Empowerment Coaching). But why write about it? This principal has special meaning for me and is one I think many of us forget in our busy lives. But what does it really mean?

As Destination Weddings have grown in popularity in recent years so have the number of venues offering facilities for these important events increased. Not so long ago couples considering a destination wedding would have found only a few locations and venues specializing in providing all the required amenities but now brides are confronted with a multitude of hotels, resorts and private villas all offering a dream location for their wedding day.

No one can blame the newcomers for jumping on the proverbial bandwagon. The destination wedding market is a lucrative one but at the same time it is a lot more than simply offering an upgraded hotel room, a floral arch for the couple to stand under to exchange their vows, a bottle of champagne and a reception meal for two. So how should couples, considering a destination wedding, decide which resort and what venue is really the right one for them?

Second marriages, or even third, are not uncommon these days, in fact four out of ten weddings are now second time around marriages and many brides are now choosing to step outside the traditional ceremony and look for a new and special way to begin their new relationship. After all you now know who you are and what you want and are no longer influenced by parents as you may well have been the first time you tied the knot.
