As the housing market continues to sag and the economy maintains its roller-coaster behavior, timeshare owners facing foreclosure are joined by uneasy consumers who’d like to unload the obligations of a timeshare before they’re faced with work cutbacks or pension reductions.
As a result, many owners are turning to third-party re-sellers in hopes of selling their vacation properties quickly. There are many pitfalls in the process of selling, and timeshare resale scams abound. The main takeaway from all the advice you’ll ever read (and, we hope, heed) is always to avoid sellers who demand an upfront fee.

People have got so used to the hard sell tactics of the timeshare industry that they simply brush it off as though it were nothing. I felt really intimidated at one presentation; they had our backs up against the wall and I was shaking when I left the building.
If a product is so good, then why practically bully people into buying it?
The truth is that if you talk to people that have left the industry they will tell you that seldom if ever does any sales person own their own product. Added to this was a startling opening paragraph from the website of a timeshare brokerage. This is what they said, and they said it as though it were a good reason to buy timeshare:

One very successful timeshare salesperson told me, “when you have a monthly paycheck over $10,000, you’ll be hooked on this industry forever. The income and the pace of sales can leave your breathless with excitement, or out of breath, flustered. It depends on what type of a month you are having. If you make a $10,000 paycheck, it’s easy to want to continue that pace forever.
Just as life has ups and downs, so does commission-based sales. When you are making lots of sales you can live on the adrenaline and it’s amazing. If you stop making sales, you just don’t tend to feel as excited and neither does your bank account. The key to continued success is balance.

Most people find it interesting that one of the major destinations for Hawaiians is Las Vegas. They take a break from Paradise and all the tourists to go to the number one tourist destination in the world, Las Vegas. Hawaiian visitors to Las Vegas come to shop, eat, gamble, see the shows, and to check out vacation ownership.
When the Hawaiian guests purchase vacation ownership and timeshare, we always ask them about how they will be using the vacations they have purchased, where they will go, how often, and who will they be taking on the trips. So many of the Hawaiian vacation ownership purchasers tell us that they plan on enjoying mini-trips of 2-3 nights at a time, right on their own islands. Vacation ownership and timeshare is definitely helping families get together again and in a more comfortable style as the fast-growing vacation lifestyle choice.
Whether you have a small or large family, if you have people you love, you feel obligated to see them and spend time together. This doesn’t mean that you don’t also need a vacation. Let’s face it, we love our family members, most of the time, just kidding, but it can be very stressful visiting family members.
Anyone who says that there’s no stress in juggling the commitments of getting together with family members is probably not being honest with themselves. The more people you plan to visit, the more arrangements you need for the logistics including lodging, transportation, and all those meals.
